The brief

Veldt makes chairs you keep for thirty years, and sold them through a site you'd close in thirty seconds. Beautiful furniture, catalogue-grade presentation: white cutouts, grey grids, a checkout from another decade.

They asked for a store that felt like their showroom in Ghent — calm, tactile, expensive in the right way — and they asked for it before the spring collection. Eleven weeks.

The approach
01

Stillness as a feature

The products never animate. Everything around them — navigation, transitions, the cart — glides, so the furniture reads as the fixed point. The motion hierarchy is the brand.

02

A page that sells sitting

Product pages open at seat height. Materials swatch in place, the price stays put, and the one cobalt button never moves. Nothing to relearn, nothing to chase.

03

Built to be handed over

A content system their two-person team can run: new products in minutes, campaigns without a developer, guardrails that keep it looking like day one.

The client
Eleven weeks, zero drama, a store that outsells the old one two to one. I keep the launch film on my phone.
